Grace Wilson BIO


Grace Wilson (she/her) is an 19-year-old emerging playwright living on Yuggera and Turrbal land in Meanjin. She performed with The Young Company Theatre in Cairns for multiple years training in acting and musical theatre before beginning to write for stage in late 2020. Her show ‘MY NAME IS TOMMY’ was the runner up for the Queensland Theatre’s Young Playwrights’ Award 2021 and the following year, Grace took the prize with her play ‘GOODBYE ELI ANDERSON’. This work when then go on to shortlist for the Patrick White Playwrights’ Award with Sydney Theatre Company and the Griffin Award with Griffin Theatre Company - both of which she is the youngest in history to ever make the list. She has also collaborated and written with other Australian theatre companies including JUTE Theatre Company, Underground Brisbane, Vena Cava Productions and Australian Theatre For Young People. Grace has also worked and published with several other writing companies including ABC, Regional Arts Australia and ATAR Notes Australia

Vancouver Art Gallery presents Rapture, Rhythm and the Tree Of Life - Emily Carr and Her Female Contemporaries from December 7, 2019 to June 28, 2020. Emily Carr (1871-1945) is an iconic Canadian artist who is widely recognized for her paintings of the forested landscapes of British Columbia that evoke the possibility for transcending the material world through the colour, shapes and rhythms of nature. Drawn primarily from the Gallery's permanent collection, this exhibition features a number of Carr's paintings of forest interiors-environments that she often described in her journals as offering an almost rapturous connection to the divine.
