Broadway Salutes Yiddish: A Benefit for the Folksbiene Yiddish Theatre will feature theatre luminaries paying tribute to America's only Yiddish theatre. It will take place on Monday, June 12th at 7:30 PM at Town Hall (126 West 43rd Street).

The benefit will star Tovah Feldshuh, Theodore Bikel, Sheldon Harnick, Judy Kaye, Leonard Nimoy and Jerry Zaks. The evening will also feature Bruce Adler, Mina Bern, Joanne Borts, Avi Hoffman, Eleanor Reissa, Lori Wilner, the Zalmen Mlotek/Frank London Orchestra, The Billy Joel Band, and members of the original Broadway casts of Jersey Boys, Mamma Mia! and Movin' Out.

Broadway Salutes Yiddish will honor Bel Kaufman (author of Up the Down Staircase and the granddaughter of Sholom Aleichem), Feliks Frankel, who is a partner in OTA Limited Partnership, Co-chair of Russian Division at UJA, and artist/producer Mira Jedwabnik Van Doren.

"This will be a night of music, theater and multi-media as the Broadway theater community pays tribute to the Yiddish language and culture," state press notes. "Current and past luminaries of the American Theater will join stars of the Yiddish stage to sing, dance, and share anecdotes to celebrate Yiddish, a language in which so many of Broadway's most dominant figures were raised. Broadway Salutes Yiddish is your opportunity to help ensure the continued health and strength of America's only Yiddish theater - The Folksbiene!"

Tickets are $75 to $500. For reservations and information (including sponsorship opportunities), call (212) 213-2120. For more information on the theatre, visit www.folksbiene.org.
