A.R.T. to Present THE LIGHT PRINCESS, Beginning 12/7

Following previous season's sold-out holiday hits, The Snow Queen, Hansel and Gretel, the A.R.T. Institute, in association with the Loeb Drama Center, brings back the enchanting musical, The Light Princess, by Lila Rose Kaplan with music by Mike Pettry, directed by Allegra Libonati, with choreography by Jeff and Rick Kuperman. Performances will be held at the Loeb Drama Center, 64 Brattle Street, Cambridge from December 7 through January 4, 2015.

American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) will present a Sensory Friendly performance of The Light Princess on December 30th at 2:00PM for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders or other sensory sensitivities. The Light Princess performs at the A.R.T. From December 7 through January 4, at the Loeb Drama Center, 64 Battle Street, Cambridge, MA.

The American Repertory Theater/Moscow Art Theater School Institute for Advanced Theater Training, in partnership with Playwrights of New York (PoNY), presents Samuel D. Hunter's (2014 MacArthur Genius Grant Recipient) comedy, A Bright New Boise, directed by Marcus Stern. Performances will take place at the Zero Church Performance Space, Harvard Square on October 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, and 18 at 7:30PM.

Guerilla Opera presents Let's Make a Sandwich, an experiment in opera production, which includes two world premiere operas with music and librettos by composers Rudolf Rojahn and Curtis K. Hughes, and stage direction by Copeland Woodruff and Giselle Ty. Through performance, this production investigates the culture of contemporary opera production and highlights where the influence of the composer ends and the director begins. Let's Make a Sandwich plays for one weekend only.

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) has announced continued programming as part of the Artist in Residence initiative at OBERON, its second stage and club-theater venue. This initiative is rooted in A.R.T's mission to expand the boundaries of theater by supporting local and emerging artists. OBERON launched this multi-year program of work and mentorship with three local performance groups: Liars & Believers, Boston Circus Guild, and Touch Performance Art. All three have worked previously in OBERON, creating events in the club theater model and harnessing a new form of theater that is rooted in a social environment.

American Repertory Theater to Offer Sensory-Friendly Performance of THE LIGHT PRINCESS, 1/3

American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) has scheduled a sensory-friendly performance of The Light Princess on Friday, January 3 at 2:00pm at the Loeb Drama Center, designed to create a welcoming environment for children with Autism spectrum disorders or other sensitivity issues. Slight alterations will be made to the performance, specially trained volunteers will be on hand, and quiet areas in the lobby will be available for children whoneed to take a break from the show. A social story and a character guide will be provided to all families prior to the performance, to help acclimate family members with Autism spectrum disorders or sensitivity issues to the experience of live theater.
