The Director of Public Works reports directly to the Artistic Director and is responsible for the leadership of the
theater’s education, community engagement, touring and participatory theater programs. The director oversees
program strategy, budgeting, collaborating with the theater’s staff, and management of Dallas Theater Center’s
Public Works Department. The Director of Public Works also serves as the executive producer of the annual
pageant and community touring productions and cultivates and manages relations with a wide variety of external
community partners.
Managing a department of four full-time employees, as well as part-time fellows, interns, teachers and artists, the
director serves on the theater’s artistic staff and administrative senior staff, and contributes to the creation and
implementation of an inspiring vision for the company which places community at the center of the theater’s
work. The director is a leading participant in the theater’s artistic and season planning processes. This is an
Exempt, salaried position, with a full benefits package including medical, dental and vision insurance and paid-time
off. Some evenings and weekends may be required, as needed throughout the year.
Salary: 60-75,000 annually
