PLAYHOUSE VETERANS DAY CONCERT FEATURES J.D. DANNER BAND AND BENEFITS FORGOTTEN SOLDIERS OUTREACH

The Lake Worth Playhouse presents Fall In: A Veterans Day Tribute Concert to honor U.S. military service men and women. The concert features live music from the J.D. Danner Band and takes place this Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 8:00 p.m.

FALL IN features the music of Nashville recording artist J.D. Danner, a New York-born musician who mixes the sounds of country and southern rock for an "Urban Cowgirl" sound that is popular with fans of varying musical tastes and styles. Often described as "Roseanne Cash meets Melissa Etheridge," J.D. Danner is an artist with a mission to change the world through the power of music. She has partnered with the American Cancer Society, Women in Distress and Forgotten Soldiers Outreach along with regularly touring to perform at military bases in the U.S. and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in support of our troops.

The concert will open with the National Anthem performed by Playhouse performing artist, C.C. Currie, who starred in last season's production of Always, Patsy Cline and joined the cast of this season's Playhouse season opener, Oklahoma! Opening ceremonies for the Veterans Day Tribute will be conducted by the Forest Hill High School Color Guard.

Tickets are $18 and $20 and proceeds will benefit both the Lake Worth Playhouse and Forgotten Soldiers Outreach. Audiences are asked to bring a non-perishable food item or hygiene product to be included in WE CARE packages that are prepared and sent to U.S. soldiers by Forgotten Soldiers Outreach.

Forgotten Soldiers Outreach (FSO) is a not-for-profit organization established for the purpose of sending care packages and letters of encouragement to deployed U.S. soldiers. It is the mission of FSO to ease the pain of separation of U.S. soldiers from their loved ones by helping families of soldiers who cannot afford to ship their own packages and, hopefully, bring a smile to the face of the recipient of each package. For information on becoming involved with FSO, contact Lynelle Zelnar at lynelle@forgottensoldiers.org or call 305-378-6437 or log on to www.forgottensoldiers.org. FSO National Operations Center can be reached at 561-369-2933. Forgotten Soldiers Outreach, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization registered with the State of Florida and the State of Georgia.

Lake Worth Playhouse is a non-profit community theatre with a diverse array of offerings, including award-winning dramas, comedies, musicals, area premieres, Broadway favorites, children's shows, ballets and operas on film, live concerts, improv comedy and alternative programming. In addition to its main stage theatrical fare, The Playhouse presents year-round independent and foreign films in the Stonzek Theatre, an intimate black-box style theatre equipped with a large viewing screen and high-definition projection. The Playhouse is proud to offer a variety of educational programs for adults and children, as well as community outreach initiatives that bring cultural programs into the neighborhoods of underserved youth and also make theatre available free of charge for disadvantaged citizens in the community.

The 57th season of the Lake Worth Playhouse opened with the classic Rodgers & Hammerstein musical OKLAHOMA! (October 9-25, 2009). The next main stage production is Neil Simon's bittersweet comedy BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS (November 20 - December 13, 2009) followed by Broadway dance sensation SWING (January 22 - February 7, 2010), Agatha Christie's THE MOUSETRAP (March 5-21, 2010) and Andrew Lloyd Webber's JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT (April 16 - May 2, 2010).

Individual tickets to FALL IN: A VETERANS DAY TRIBUTE CONCERT are $18 and $20 and can be purchased through the Lake Worth Playhouse Box Office at 561-586-6410 or online at lakeworthplayhouse.org. Tickets to all Playhouse main stage shows, concerts, films and live events for Season 2009-2010 are on sale and available for purchase during box office hours or online at anytime.

Lake Worth Playhouse is located at 713 Lake Avenue in Downtown Lake Worth. It is situated on the south side of Lake Avenue two blocks east of Dixie Highway. Free, well-lighted parking is available on Lake Avenue and surrounding side streets, with free parking lots located behind The Playhouse.
