"Copenhagen"

Michael Frayn's Award-Winning Drama

Opens December 18th at Palm Beach Dramaworks

West Palm Beach's only resident professional theatre, Palm Beach Dramaworks, continues its 10th Anniversary season with "Copenhagen," the Tony Award winning play by Michael Frayn on Friday, December 18th (8PM) at their intimate downtown theatre (322 Banyan Boulevard). SpeciAl Priced preview performances are slated for December 16th & 17th (8PM) and the production will play through January 31st.

Based on an historical event that occurred in 1941 Copenhagen, Michael Frayn's drama, "Copenhagen," keenly explores moral responsibility and patriotism when two fellow physicists, Werner Heisenberg and Niels Bohr, who once worked in collaboration, are now placed on opposite sides of World War II.  Like much of Frayn's work, "Copenhagen" ripples with irony and intelligence and questions how one can stay true to science, family and friends, one's country and one's God when at the forefront of discovery.

Resident director J. Barry Lewis will direct the production featuring Colin McPhillamy, Christopher Oden and Elizabeth Dimon. The play will feature scenery designed by Michael Amico, costumes designed by Brian O'Keefe, lights designed by Todd Wren and sound designed by Steven Shapiro.

"Copenhagen" had its world premiere in London in 1998 before opening on Broadway in 2000 - winning three Tony Awards, including Best Play.
