Kravis Center Offers ‘Comps' to Guests Who Purchased Tickets to Florida Stage's ‘Ella' Through the Kravis Center's Box Office

In response to the sudden closure this week of Florida Stage, Judith A. Mitchell, Chief Executive Officer of the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, today announced that the Center would offer a complimentary ticket for each ticket purchased through the Kravis Center's box office to Florida Stage's now-cancelled production of Ella. The "comps" can be used at any "Kravis Center presents" performance in the Rinker Playhouse, Persson Hall or Gosman Amphitheatre during the 2011-2012 season, based on availability.

Mitchell said "The Kravis Center is pleased to extend this goodwill gesture to supporters of the arts who purchased Florida Stage tickets to Ella through our box office. Guests who purchased these tickets through the Kravis Center Box Office have been contacted with the offer of a complimentary ticket for each ticket purchased and the following message:

"Unfortunately the Kravis Center is unable to refund your ticket purchase for the Ella performance. The Kravis Center sold those tickets on behalf of Florida Stage and has been notified that Florida Stage is filing for bankruptcy protection. At the present time the Kravis Center has not been authorized by the bankruptcy court to refund Florida Stage ticket sales proceeds. Please visit the Florida Stage website at www.floridastage.org for further information... If you feel you have a claim to lodge as a part of the Chapter 7 proceedings, please contact Robert Furr of the Law Offices of Furr and Cohen at rfurr@furrcohen.com."

The Kravis Center's 2011-2012 season brochure will be mailed out in September, and ticket-holders to Ella, who purchased the tickets through the Kravis Center's box office, should contact the Kravis Center box office at that time. The phone number is 561-832-7469.
