Gulfshore Playhouse to Present Ken LudwigÂ's THE FOX ON THE FAIRWAY

Gulfshore Playhouse to Present Ken Ludwig's The Fox on the Fairway

Gulfshore Playhouse will present the farce, Ken Ludwig's The Fox on the Fairway, March 2 through 23.

The romp by Ken Ludwig pulls the rug out from underneath the stuffy denizens of a private country club. Filled with mistaken identities, slamming doors, and over-the-top romantic shenanigans, it's a furiously paced comedy that recalls the Marx Brothers' classics. Ken Ludwig's The Fox on the Fairway is a brand-new tribute to the great English farces of the 1930s and 1940s. You won't want to miss this charmingly madcap adventure - about love, life, and man's eternal love affair with golf.

Ken Ludwig is an internationally acclaimed playwright whose many hits on Broadway, in London's West End and throughout the world have made his name synonymous with modern comedy. He has had six shows on Broadway and six in the West End, and he has won the Laurence Olivier Award, England's highest theatre honor, as well as three Tony Award nominations and two Helen Hayes Awards. His work has been commissioned by the Royal Shakespeare Company and has been performed in thirty countries in over twenty languages. Ken Ludwig is also the author of the popular Lend Me a Tenor and Moon Over Buffalo.

"I met Matt when we were working on Broadway together and I am honored that he would fit us into his schedule to secure our first guest director." says Founder and Producing Artistic Director Kristen Coury.

The Fox on the Fairway will be directed by Matt Lenz. Matt's previous credits include associate director on the Broadway productions of Hairspray, Catch Me If You Can and Disney's Beauty and the Beast.
