Final Week of NOISES OFF Features Special Programming

The first play of Florida Rep's Lucky Season 13, the funny farce, Noises Off, plays at the Historic Arcade Theatre for one more week before closing on Nov. 20th.

Florida Weekly called the play "a roller coaster ride," The Naples Daily News told readers that the production "makes the audience howl with laughter," and called the classic farce "a delicious comic treat!"

Noises Off follows the exploits of a hapless fifth-rate theatre troupe trying to mount a silly sex farce called "Nothing On." As the cast stumbles through the play onstage, a real-life farce is unfolding behind the curtain. From the ill-fated dress rehearsal to the last chaotic performance, the delirium literally never ends.

The final week of the run includes the debut of a new program at Florida Rep, Third Thursday Theatre Night, a brand new package the theatre has developed for its neighbors on Sanibel and Captiva Islands. On Thursday, November 18, Florida Rep will bring a bus from Sanibel Island to the beautiful Fort Myers River District for a night on the town and an evening of theatre at its finest for just one low price.

The evening begins on Sanibel Island at Sweet Melissa's Cafe (1625 Periwinkle Way), where pre-show dinner reservations are available - though not included in the price. The bus will depart at 6:30pm and arrive in the River District just in time for the 8pm performance. The $49 per person admission price includes bus transportation and a ticket to the critically acclaimed production of Noises Off.

Also on Nov. 18, the final week of Noises Off features a special 10:15am Student Matinee Performance, where over one hundred high school students from Cape Coral High, East Lee County High and the Canterbury School will see the production for just $10. There are still seats available for the Student Matinee, and bookings can be made by calling Florida Rep's Education Dept. at 239-332-4665x20.

Noises Off by Michael Frayn plays at Florida Rep through Nov 20. Performances are Tues. - Sat. at 8pm, with 2pm matinees on Wed. and Sun.

For more information on the Third Thursday Theatre Night, or to reserve your seats on the bus, call Florida Rep's Third Thursday Theatre Night Hot Line at 239-332-4665 x33. To make a reservation for dinner, please contact Sweet Melissa's Cafe at 239-472-1956.

Noises Off is sponsored by Dr. Alexander M. Eaton and Dr. Hussein Wafapoor of the Retina Health Center and Florida Weekly.

Subscriptions and single tickets are now on sale through the box office at 239-332-4488. Single tickets are priced at $44 and $39, and $25 & $20 for discounted previews. Subscriptions range from $117 to $288, and offer up to 40% savings. The NEW 7 Show Rush Pass is on sale now for only $139.

Florida Repertory Theatre performs in the Historic Arcade Theatre on Bay St. between Jackson & Hendry with free parking in the Fort Myers River District. Visit Florida Rep online at www.floridarep.org.
